Dorothy M. Becker, 88, of Dubuque, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Stonehill Care Center.

Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Gross officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Road, Dubuque, where there will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

Dorothy was born on April 11, 1924, in Clinton, Iowa, daughter of Frederick and Viola (Finn) Rieck. She married Harold J. Becker on Oct. 25, 1947, at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque.

In her early years, she was employed at the Savanna Depot, the Battery Factory and Roshek's Department Store.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Harold, of Dubuque; her children, Fred Becker and Sue (Tom) Stierman, both of Dubuque; six grandchildren, Jillian Becker, of Des Moines, Allison Sauser, Benjamin Becker, Christopher Becker, Matt (Kate) Stierman and Jennifer Stierman, all of Dubuque; four great-grandchildren, Julia, James and Jack Stierman and Ethan Sauser; her brother, Dale Rieck, of Avon, Ohio; and five sisters-in-law, Evelyn High, Delores (Joe) Kloser, Joan Miller, Dorothy Gottschalk and Lois Rannals.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Christopher Becker; her brother, Kenneth (Mary Jo) Rieck; and her sister, Joan Rieck.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque.
