Wayne T. "Tom" Becker, 57, of 1303 Rhomberg Ave., Dubuque, formerly of Platteville, Wis., died Thursday morning, Dec. 29, 2005, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, with his family by his side.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Mueller Memorial Chapel at Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, Dubuque.

Mr. Becker was self-employed in the construction business. He also was a Jack of all trades.

He was born on Dec. 4, 1948, in Platteville, son of DeForest and Bertha (Ohlert) Becker. He married Linda Patters in 1974, in Dubuque.

He loved to play cards and spend time with his grandson. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was always willing to go out of his way to help others. He was a great prankster and joke teller. He loved stock car racing, both as a driver and spectator. He never missed a race.

Surviving are his wife, Linda L. Becker, of Dubuque; a son, Scott Becker, of Dubuque; a grandson, Brice Becker; brothers and sisters, Virginia (Orlin) Andrew, James (Pat) Becker, Karen (Wayne) Hoffman, Kathryn (Frank) Beyer, David "Mike" (Deb) Becker and Janet (Marshall) Hoffman, all of Platteville, Roger (Barb) Becker, of Davenport, Iowa, Bonnie Becker, of Phoenix, Dennis Becker, of Madison, Wis., Dennis Haubert and Sheila Castillo; a sister-in-law, Vi Becker, of Denver; a brother-in-law, Donald Patters; his beloved dogs, Mandy and Taz; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha, in 1997; his father, DeForest, in 1957; an infant sister in 1939; his stepfather, Phillip Klein, in 1985; his father-in-law, Donald Patters, in 1996; and a brother, Daniel "Danny" Becker, on Dec. 2, 2005.

In lieu of flowers, a Tom Becker Memorial Fund has been established.
