Wilma Bahl, 79, of 1760 Avoca St., died Friday, June 18, 2004, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Asbury, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road.

Wilma was born on March 14, 1925, in Cascade, Iowa, daughter of Michael and MaryBelle (VanZile) Konzen. She married Robert J. Bahl Sr. on Jan. 25, 1944, in Dubuque; he preceded her in death on May 28, 1992.

Surviving are six children, Janice (David) Wagner, Barbara (John) Liphardt and Alan (Nancy) Bahl, all of Dubuque, Diane (Tom) Thompson, of Farley, Iowa, Robert J. Bahl Jr., of San Francisco, and Joyce (Dane) Jackson, of Menominee, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilfred (Julie) Konzen, of Dubuque, and Melvin (Alvina) Konzen, of Phoenix; three sisters, Cecilia Frank, Mary Maule and Eleanor (Clarence) Avenarius, all of Dubuque; a brother-in-law, Bob Patters; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eileen Patters and Lillian Konzen, in infancy; a sister-in-law, Goldie Konzen; and a brother-in-law, Jim Frank.

In lieu of flowers, a Wilma Bahl Memorial Fund has been established.
