ASBURY, Iowa - Mrs. Richard D. (Jeanette R.) Anderson, 44, 5230 Saratoga Road, Asbury, died at 7:40 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at home, after a lengthy illness with Lou Gehrig's disease.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Anderson worked at the Teacher's Credit Union as a new account representative and prior to that had worked at the former FDL Foods Inc. and the Dubuque Packing Co., where she was a foreman.

She was born on Sept. 15, 1954, in Dubuque, daughter of Donald and Lucille (Luchsinger) Butler. She married Richard D. "Dick" Anderson on June 4, 1976, at the Grandview Avenue United Methodist Church.

Jeanette grew up in Dubuque and graduated from Hempstead High School in 1972 and the University of Dubuque in 1975. She was a member of the Grandview Avenue United Methodist Church and its mother's coffee club.

After she became ill, she sustained life courageously in the midst of adversity of setback. Her tenacious courage was driven by her personal pride and her devoted love for her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Richard D. "Dick" Anderson; a daughter, Colleen R. Anderson, at home; a son, Kirk J. Anderson, at home; her parents, Donald and Lucille (Luchsinger) Butler, of Dubuque; a sister, Janice (Robert) Miller, of Dubuque; two brothers, Burton (Ellen) and Dean (Patti) Butler, both of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (ALS).
