Henrietta Probst Lindemann Cady 1914-2010

Henrietta Probst Lindemann Cady, a 40-year resident of Riverside, Ill., formerly of Dubuque, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010, at the Scottish Home, North Riverside, Ill., from complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 30, at Riverside Presbyterian Church, Riverside. Private family burial will be in Highview Cemetery, Epworth, Iowa.

She was born on May 9, 1914, in Pierce, Colo. She attended the University of Dubuque from 1932 to 1934, earning an associate's degree. She taught for a couple of years and then went to Cornell College, from 1936 to 1938. She then went on to Iowa State University and received the coveted Smith-Hughes Certificate.

She married Glen Cady, a teacher at Kelvyn Park High, Chicago, in January 1944, in Epworth.

Henrietta enjoyed going on Elderhostels and visited Ecuador, Iceland, Sweden, Egypt, The Holy Land, Australia, California and Virginia. She will be remembered for her friendly, cheerful personality, smiles, laughter, generous heart, and her love of birds, nature, gardening and genealogy. With the help of family, she realized a lifelong dream of creating and recording the histories of the Lindemann and Cady families.

She was the beloved wife of the late Glen; loving mother of Linda (Dave) Waycie, David and Ralph (Jennie) Cady; dearest grandmother of three; and great-grandmother of three.

Memorials may be given to Riverside Presbyterian Church, 116 Barrypoint, Riverside, IL 60546; Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org; and Epworth United Methodist Church, 102 Main St. East, Epworth, IA 52045.
