BODY OF LOCAL YOUTH ARRIVES IN CITY MONDAY

The remains of Herbert Blichman,(sic) who died while in the service of the United States army in France in August, 1917, arrived in the city Monday night at 11:30 o’clock from Hoboken, N.J., where they arrived last Saturday from across the waters.

The body of Herbert Blichman is one of the first of Dubuque’s soldier dead to be returned. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Blichman, of 51 Lemon street, and left this city in February, 1917 with the draft in this city and was stationed at Camp Dodge for a few months, later being sent to Massachusetts from which state he sailed in the summer of 1917 for France.

Since he met his death at Brest French soil and despite the efforts of his parents to have the body sent back to its native land it was not until now that it was possible to get it to Dubuque.

Burial for the soldier will take place Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock from the family residence, 33 Lemon street to Linwood cemetery. Services at the home and the cemetery will be under the auspices of the American Legion, Dubuque Post No. 6. Rev. F. H. Schwab of the Immanuel Congregation church will conduct the service.
