Elizabeth Sodawasser, 85, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family and beloved kitties. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at McLaren's Chapel with entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum.

Elizabeth was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. She worked at home as a seamstress and volunteered as a Girl Scout leader. She was skilled at everything from sweating pipes to laying bricks. Her passions were for wildlife, her kitties, needlework and gardening.

Elizabeth is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Sodawasser and Cheri Knapp, and son-in-law, Lorin Knapp, all of Windsor Heights. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren's Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Iowa Hospice or Animal Lifeline of Iowa.

Elizabeth's family would like to give a special thanks to the exceptionally loving and caring staff at Iowa Hospice.
