Harry S. Shearn, 70, of 605 ½ Main Street, died at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital Friday morning at 2 o'clock after being in failing health for several years, although his illness was only serious for one week. The body may be viewed at the Didesch Funeral Home after 5 o'clock Friday afternoon. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Saturday morning to St. Raphael's Cathedral where mass will be at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mr. Shearn was born in St. Paul, Minn., Dec. 1, 1872, son of Thomas and Susan Nugent Shearn. He came to Dubuque about 10 years ago.

Survivors are his wife, Mayme Shannon Shearn, and one sister, Mary E. Shearn, Baltimore, Md.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
