John M. Bankson, 85, well known resident of this county, was taken by death at the home of his son Glen, 828 Rhomberg Avenue, Tuesday night at 11:50 o'clock.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the Bankson home to the cemetery Farley, Ia.
Mr. Bankson was born at Bankston, Iowa, January 10, 1839, and married to Mary E. Stucky in Bellevue, Iowa, June 6, 1867.

His wife passed away August 23, 1910. Five children also preceded him to the grave.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. F. N. Clause and Mrs. Winifred Clause; three sons, Glen J. of this city, W. T. of Davenport, and H.B. Bankson of Omaha; twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, O. S. Thompson of Cedar Rapids and W. Thompson of Nebrasks, also a sister, Mrs. Martha Benton of Farley
