PIONEER CITIZEN DEAD

Henry Schmitz of 486 Lincoln avenue, passed away on Saturday at 10:10 o'clock at the family residence, after a week's illness with pneumonia. Mr. Schmitz was a pioneer resident of Dubuque and a well known teamster. He was born in Oldenburg, Germany, seventy-three years ago and has been a resident of this city nearly fifty-four years. His death will be deeply regretted by a large number of friends. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Jacob Grode, Mrs. James Pickley, John Henry and Anton.
