Services for Mrs. Mary E. Powers, 307 locust Street, widow of Michael J. Powers, who died in St. Joseph’s Sanitarium Friday morning, were held from the Hoffmann Mortuary to St. Raphael’s Cathedral at 8 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Karl J. Klein, of Loras Academy, a grandson, offering the high mass of requiem.

Attending clergy included the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. V. Casey, pastor of St. Raphael’s Cathedral, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. R. Their, of Loras College, the Rev. Karl G. Schroeder, Loras College; the Rev. Joseph Kirk, Loras Academy,; the Rev. William C. Kunch, Loras College, and the Rev. William Barragy, assistant pastor of St. Raphael’s.
Msgr. Casey delivered the sermon.

Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where Msgr. Casey and Father Klein officiated.

Pallbearers were Frank Gosner, George B. Schumacher, Arthur Duggan, Joseph Ellsworth, Alfred Runde, and Harry Grassel.

The following members of the Hyde Park Corp. No. 37, Women’s Relief Corps., conducted memorial services at the mortuary Sunday evening.
Mrs. Magdalen Ehrlich, president; Mrs. Elizabeth Trude, senior vice president; Mrs. Elizabeth Ploog, chaplain, Mrs. Clara Bradley, secretary; Mrs. Stella Groff, Mrs. Ruth Miner, Mrs. Johanna Ginter, and Mrs. Christina Jackson, color bearers, and Mrs. Nora Millin and Mrs. Anna Vogenthaler, color guard.
