After an illness of only six weeks ? condition, borne with Christian fortitude and resignation, James Kinsella, 80 years old and a highly respected resident of Dubuque County, passed away on Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the family resident on Ambrose Street, this city.

Born in County Wexford, Ireland, on May 5, 1840, he came with his parents to America when he was nine years old and settled at ?, Wisconsin. There he was educated by the Dominican Sisters and there he reached manhood. Later when the sisters moved from Benton, Wis. to Sinsinawa he went with them and was employed by them and Father Mazzuehelli, O.F., of saintly memory, until the spring of 1876, when he located on a farm in Vernon Township, where for more than thirty years he successfully followed farming. In the spring of 1909 he moved to Dubuque, where the closing days of his long and useful life were passed into the tranquility and peace which comes as reward of a life of devotion to Christ’s duty.

Bereaved by the death of his devoted wife several years ago -? and comfort in his declining days and the companionship and love of his children, of whom there are seven: Mrs. P.T. He is also survived by one sister, Miss Mary Kinsella of Minneapolis, Minn. and several grandchildren.

In the passing of Mr. Kinsella, the family suffers the loss of a father whose example was ever supportive of all that is best in life’s ? way. A model citizen and a Christian gentleman, due to the best – ditions of his race. He has earned his reward, rich in deeds that will last for eternity. A fervent Catholic his entire life, he followed faithfully the cross of Christ and died ? and happy in that ? he would find eternal rest.

The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 8 o’clock from the family residence to St. Anthony’s with burial at the Monastery.
