John T. Hohmann, 67, prominent tavern keeper and mayor of Sageville, died at the family home in Sageville early Sunday. He had been seriously ill for the last ten weeks.

Friends may call at the Behr Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Monday. The funeral will be held from the Behr Funeral Home to the Holy Ghost Church at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Hohmann was born on Oct 28, 1881 in Dubuque County, son of the late John and Mary Hohmann, pioneers of this area, and he resided in this county his entire life.

He operated a tavern in Sageville for many years until three and one half years ago, when he retired. He was an ardent sportsman.

Hohmann was a member of Holy Ghost Church, the Holy Ghost Court of Foresters 636 and the Dubuque County Conservation Society.

He was married to Miss Lena Koenig at Sugar Creek on June 26, 1906.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Ray J. Hohmann of Sageville and Leo G. Hohmann of Addison, Ill.,; a sister Miss Mary Hohmann, of Garnavillo, Ia.,: five brothers, George of Dubuque; Paul of Durango; Robert of Asbury; Anthony of Dubuque; and Joseph of Cornvellis, Ore. and seven grandchildren.
