RAYMOND J. FESSLER

Raymond J. Fessler, 84, of Epworth died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mercy Hospital after a two month illness.

Fessler was a former Dubuque wagon maker and for several years before his retirement, twelve years ago, he was custodian of Fulton School. For the last nine years he had lived in Epworth.

The body is at the Didesch Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday and before 5 p.m. Friday. The body will then be transferred to the Sanner Funeral Home to St. Patrick's Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 24, 1864, in Mosalem Township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fessler. He moved to Dubuque in 1888. He married Ellen Madden on June 11, 1890, in St. Joseph's Church, Key West. She died on April 30, 1941. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and of the League of the Sacred Heart.

Surviving are the daughter; one son, Raymond J. Fessler of Dubuque, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren: and a brother Fred Fessler of Sioux Falls, S.D. He was preceded by his wife, his parents, two sister and two brothers.
