John Even of Key West Died Friday
Afternoon at 1 O'Clock

John Even, a pioneer of Dubuque, died at his home in Key West Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Deceased was born in Luxemburg, Germany and came to this country when 21 years of age. After residing in Chicago for two years he came and settled at Key West and resided here up to the time of his death. He was a man of noble character and even temperament, a kind father and a good citizen and his death is a loss to the community. He was a devout member of the Catholic church. Deceased is survived by five children; Charles of Dubuque and Frank at home; Mrs. George Schrup of Dubuque; Sister Mary Xavier, Presentation Convent of Waukon; Mary at home.
