Frank Brown, 81, well known Dubuque County farmer, died Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at the farm house east of Asbury, after an illness of one week.

The body is at Hoffmann Mortuary, where friends may call. The funeral will be held Friday morning from the mortuary at 8:15 o’clock to St. Philomena Church at 9 o’clock. Burial will be in St. Philomena Cemetery.

Mr. Brown was born in Mosalem Township, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brown, Dubuque County pioneers. He was a lifelong resident of the county. He was a member of the Catholic Church and attended St. Philomena parish in Asbury.

Surviving are his wife: one son, Melvin Brown, at home; one sister Mrs. Peter Kies, LaMotte, Iowa; and three brothers Henry Brown, Massey; and Peter and Michael Brown, both of Jessup, Ia.
