Mrs. Elizabeth Bobleter died yesterday morning at 7:30 o’clock at the family residence, 448 Bluff Street. She had been in delicate health for along time.

Mrs. Bobleter was one of the earliest settlers in Dubuque. She was born in Alton, Mo., in 1833. A year or two later her father, the lamented George Zollicoffer, removed with his family to Dubuque, and settled on a farm above town near what has since been known as Zollicoffer lake. She was the wife of Gabriel Bobleter, who died five years ago. Five children survived, two sons, John and Edward, and three daughters, Mrs. Martin Kane, Mrs. Oliver Kennedy, and Mrs. Wm. Maine. All reside here except John, who will arrive from Chicago tonight. She also leaves a brother, Jacob Zollicoffer, and a sister, Mrs. M. Tschirgi, Sr.

The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock to the Cathedral, where Mrs. Bobleter was a devout worshiper, she having embraced the Catholic faith many years ago and pursued it with the proverbial zeal of the convert. She was a woman of deep religious and maternal emotions and sought her happiness in the companionship of her faith and children. The interment will be in the German Catholic cemetery.
