HOLY CROSS, Iowa - Donald C. Meyer, 52 of Denver, formerly of Holy Cross, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, in Jasper, Tenn.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Podhajsky officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thurs-day at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 3 p.m.

Mr. Meyer was an owner/operator driving for Warren Transport in Waterloo. He also was owner and operator of Gilbertville Painting in the Waterloo area for many years.

He was born on July 2, 1953, in Dubuque, son of Charles and Rita (Feldmann) Meyer.

He was a graduate of the former Leo High School in Holy Cross. He married Linda Tomlinson on Feb. 14, 1997, in Bremer County.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Meyer, of Denver; a son, David Meyer, of Greeley; two daughters, Bobbie Jo (Ryan) McDowell, of Evansdale, and Mary Jo (Mark) Bedenik, of Brunswick, Ohio; six grandchildren, Cody, Brady and Nicole McDowell, Hope and Faith Bedenik and Ryan Cockerham; a stepson, William Weimer, of Denver; a stepdaughter, Ann Marie Cockerham, of La Marque, Texas; his father, Charles Meyer, of Holy Cross; a brother, Verl (Nancy) Meyer, of Eldridge; and two sisters, Connie (Ron) Kaiser, of Cuba City, Wis., and Carol (Matt) Kaiser, of Dickeyville, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita M. Meyer, on Jan. 15, 2003.
