Services for Helen L. McMahon, 92, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 2495 Asbury Road, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley, Iowa. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Gene Siegert & Son Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a St. Anthony's Parish Christian wake service at 8 p.m.

Mrs. McMahon was a retired teacher in the Dubuque School System. She taught at St. Joseph's Parish School in Dubuque until her retirement.

She was born Nov. 29, 1903, in Clayton County, Iowa, daughter of Jermina "Jerry" and Anna (Meyer) Hurley. She died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 1996, at Stonehill.

She married Eugene J. McMahon Nov. 5, 1932, at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Bankston, Iowa; he died July 19, 1954.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Josita's Circle of the Catholic Mothers' Study Club. She was a regular contributor to the various worldwide funds for the needy.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jane (Robert) Ferring, of Rio Verde, Ariz., and Peggy McMahon, of Dubuque; two sons, John Patrick McMahon, of Austin, Texas, and Larry J. McMahon, of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rita (Joseph) Donohue, of Fond du Lac, Wis.; and a brother-in-law, Merle Tobin, of Dubuque.
