Leo F. McBride

FARLEY, Iowa -- Leo F. McBride, 63, of 7119 Farley Road, Farley, died at 11:14 pm Saturday, Aug. 15, 1992, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p m today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where the parish rosary will be said at 4 pm, the Knights of Columbus rosary will be said at 7 pm and the scripture wake service will be held at 8 pm.

Mr. McBride farmed in Farley all of his life.

He was born on June 11, 1929, in Farley, son of Francis A. and Hester (Horsfield) McBride. He married Grace Wente on Oct. 20, 1956, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna; she survives.

He attended St. Joseph's School in Farley and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 930 of Farley and St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its rosary society.

Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Anna (and Jack) Fessler of West Branch, Janelle (and Jim) Kramer of Durango, Ellen McBride of Des Moines and Molly McBride of Farley; three granddaughters; his mother, Hester McBride of Farley; two brothers, the Rev. James of Farley and Harry of Anamosa; and two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Pearl) Scherrman and Mrs. Leon (Rosalyn) Kramer, both of Farley.

A Leo F. McBride Memorial Fund has been established.
Also surviving are three granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis, on March 16, 1968.
