FARLEY, Iowa - Clarence F. Lehmann, 84, of 106 1st Ave SW, Farley, died at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 16, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in

St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m., today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at noon, and a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The Farley American Legion and Farley American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6:30 p.m.

He was born on May 24, 1924, in Worthington, son of Anton and Frances (Honkomp) Lehmann. He received his education at St. Joseph's School in Farley.

Clarence was a Marine Corps Veteran, having served in World War II.

He married Verla M. Connolly on May 24, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fillmore; she preceded him in death on May 23, 1995. He then married Margaret Kass Feldmann on Nov. 18, 2000, at St. Joseph's Church in Farley.

Clarence farmed all his life in the rural Bankston area and still enjoyed helping his sons on the farm. He was proud of his International tractors.

He was a trustee for Iowa Township for many years, Director for the Epworth Volunteer Fire Department and an ASCS County Committee Board member for 17 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley, the Farley Knights of Columbus Council 2001 for more than 60 years, the 4th Degree Dubourg Assembly Council 1573 and the Farley American Legion Post 656 for more than 60 years.

Clarence bowled for more than 60 years and always enjoyed a good card game.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Lehmann, of Farley; seven children, Mike (Ruth) Lehmann, Lois (Roger) Schueller, Tim (Peggy) Lehmann and Phil (Marjorie) Lehmann, all of Peosta, Mary (Ed) Kluesner, of Farley, Ed (Pat) Lehmann and John (Joyce) Lehmann, both of Bankston; 27 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nine stepchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; five siblings, Sr. Mary Lois Lehmann PBVM, of Dubuque, Florence (Merlin) Jaeger, of Holy Cross, Bill (Joanne) Lehmann, of Epworth, Wilma (Bill) Hogan, of Worthington, and Ruth (Joseph) McMahon, of Manchester; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Marina Lehmann, Monsignor Leon Connolly and Vince (Jean) Connolly, all of Dubuque, Janell McMahon, of Epworth, Vivian (Don) Steffen, of Dyersville, Sr. Lillian Connolly RSM., of Cedar Rapids, and Bernard Kass, of Peosta.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Elmer Lehmann; three sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Lehmann, Sr. Nancy Connolly, RSM, and Virgie Kass; and two brothers-in- law, Tom Then and Pat Connolly.

Memorials may be given to the Seton Catholic Schools.
