FARLEY, Iowa - Raymond F. Kronlage, 87, of 503 Third Ave., S.W., Farley, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, March 21, 1999, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a St. Joseph's Parish rosary at 4 p.m., a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m., and a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Kronlage farmed in the rural Farley area, retiring in 1977.

He was born on Dec. 24, 1911, in Petersburg, son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Rolfes) Kronlage. He married Marie E. Kelchen on Jan. 25, 1939, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington.

He received his education at St. Francis School, Dyersville. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Farley, and its altar and rosary society; and the Farley Knights of Columbus Council 2001. Ray loved music and playing the guitar. He also enjoyed golf, playing cards and visiting with family and friends, especially his great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Kronlage, of Farley; a son, Donald Kronlage (and his fiancee, Kathy Portz), of Dyersville; three daughters, Verna (Eldon) Bonifas, of Dubuque, Judy (Pat) Hagerty, of Bankston, and Linda (Mike) Chapman, of Dubuque; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Louis and Mabel Kronlage, of Monticello, and Joe (Verna Lee) Kronlage and Art (Betty) Kronlage, both of Dyersville; and two sisters, Marie Rahe, of Dyersville, and Magdalen (Bill) Schockemoehl, of Worthington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Leona Kronlage.
