FARLEY, Iowa -- Joyce A. Koster, 66, of 701 1st Street NE, Farley, died at 8:59 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where a wake service will be at 4:30 p.m., and the Farley American Legion and Farley American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m.

She was born on April 29, 1942, in Farley, daughter of Alfred and Agnes (Trenkamp) Goerdt Sr. She received her education in the St. Joseph's School, Farley.

She married Donald Koster on April 6, 1974.

Joyce was employed at John Deere Dubuque Works, and later operated Joyce's Bingo Tours.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley, Iowa, and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the Farley American Legion Auxiliary.

Joyce enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Donald Koster, of Farley; three children, Roger (Janiece) Postel, of Worthington, and their children, Katrina Postel, of Ft. Dodge, and Ryan Postel, at home, Cheri (Steve) Schmitt, of Farley, and their children, Jacklyn (fiance, Joe Davis), Jacob and Jessica Schmitt, all of Farley, Donald Koster Jr., of Farley, and her step-children, Kevin Koster, of California, Lori Whitney and Willie Koster, both of Dubuque, and Steve (Crimson) Koster, of Des Moines; siblings, Rosie (Gene) Breitbach and George (Carol) Davis, both of Farley, Dick (Lois) Goerdt, of Guttenburg, Delores (Gene) Vorwald, of Holy Cross, and Billy Dale Goerdt, of Rockford, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Alfred H. Goerdt Jr., Gertrude Davis, Bob Goerdt, Lorraine Davis and Herbert Goerdt.
