FARLEY, Iowa - Mary C. Griffin, 87, of Nevada, formerly of Farley, died at 11:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at the Rolling Green Valley Nursing Home, Nevada.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Griffin owned and operated the former Leigh's Corner Cafe in Farley in the early 1950s.

She was born on May 6, 1913, in Holy Cross, daughter of Joseph and Helena (Rohenkohl) Ahlers.

She married Leander H. Koelker on Nov. 5, 1935; he died Aug. 16, 1950. She later married Leo D. Griffin on Sept. 12, 1953, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley; he died Dec. 10, 1970.

She graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School, Farley. She lived in Farley from 1913 to 1972. She was a former member of St. Joseph's Parish, Farley.

Surviving are two sons, William (Bernadine) Koelker, of Nevada, and James (Sandy) Koelker, of Cuba City, Wis.; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mary C. Koelker Memorial Fund has been established.
