FARLEY. Vernon B. Helle,66, died Friday morning in St. Mary's Unit-Mercy Health Center, Dyersville, after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 4 and a Scripture wake service begins at 8.

Survivors include three sons, Marty, and his wife, Kathy, and Ron and his wife, Judeane, both of Dubuque, and Tom and his wife, Gail, of Dyersville; four daughters, Patti and her husband, Dave Bell, of Dyersville, Donna and her husband, Gary Burds, of Peosta, and Doris and her husband, Wayne Ries, and Lori and her husband, Tim Kramer, both of Dubuque; two brothers, Donald and his wife, Ardella, of Dyersville and Tony Jr. and his wife, Doris, of Edgewood; two sisters, Eileen and her husband, Frank Egloff, of Lamont and Ivanell "Toots" and her husband, Cal Bockenstedt, of Luxemburg; and 20 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred C., on July 2, 1979; and a grandson, Jeremy Helle on Aug. 27, 1983.

A Vernon B. Helle Memorial Fund has been established.
