FARLEY, Iowa - Clara Mae Grobstick, 80, of 403 Second Ave. SW, Farley, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary at 3:30 p.m., and a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

She was first employed at the former Farley Telephone Co., the former Healy's Hatchery, Bideaux, Smith & Weber Insurance Co. in Dubuque and later retired from the Dubuque County Mutual Insurance Agency in Farley.

She was born on Nov. 22, 1924, in rural Manchester, daughter of Clarence H. and Augusta Marie (Derga) Grobstick.

She received her education in the rural country schools in Manchester and John's Creek country school in rural Farley.

She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Presentation Court 1460. She was a member of the Dyersville (Iowa) Hospital Auxiliary, St. Joseph's Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society.

Clara Mae enjoyed writing, visiting, writing cards and phone conversations with close family and friends.

Surviving are three sisters, Helen Grobstick, of Farley, Lucille Grobstick, of Cedar Rapids, and Theresa (Clarence) Hermsen, of Dyersville; five nieces and nephews, Paul (Kim) Hermsen, Sue Hermsen, Tim (friend, Lori Gallerick) Hermsen, Joe Hermsen (godson) and Jenny Hermsen; a great-niece, Payton Mae Hermsen; and a great-nephew, Jack Edward Hermsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Clara Mae Grobstick Memorial Fund has been established.
