FARLEY, Iowa - Dallas G. Dolphin, 74, of 303 Second Ave. SE, Farley, died at 11:56 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, surrounded by his family.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 29, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis Cain and the Rev. Joseph McDermott, SVD officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 3 p.m. The Farley American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6:30 p.m. and the Farley Fire Department will meet at 7 p.m.

Dallas was born on March 29, 1938, in Monticello, son of Milton "Micky" and Dolores (Aschtgen) Dolphin. He received his education at St. Martin's school in Cascade.

He was united in marriage to Ruth A. Kramer on Sept. 8, 1962, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley; she preceded him in death on Nov. 15, 1995. He later married Nancy (Ahmann) Link on Sept. 20, 1997, at St. Joseph's Church, Farley.

Dallas was employed at the John Deere Dubuque Works until his retirement in 1995.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley and its altar and rosary society and the Tri-State Antique Car Association. He was a retired volunteer of the Farley Fire Department and served on the Farley City Council for a number of years.

Dallas was an avid antique car lover. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Dolphin, of Farley; five sons, Mark "Fish" (Linda) Dolphin, of Farley, Terry (Laurie) Dolphin, of Asbury, Jeff (Vicky) Dolphin and Brian "Punky" (Tami) Dolphin, both of Farley, and Kevin "Herbie" (Anne) Dolphin, of Peosta; seven step-children, Jane (Jim) Meyer, of Pella, Julie (William) Hoefer, of Plymouth, Minn., Janet Betts, of Farley, Pamela (Matt) Loehr, of Bettendorf, Patricia (Tony) McNealey, of Eldridge, Paul Link, of Waterloo, and Mike (Heather) Link, of Eldridge; 12 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Diane Turner, of Las Vegas, and Donita (Steve) Kremer, of Monticello; and three brothers, Richard Dolphin, of Las Vegas, and Dan (Lori) Dolphin and Dean "Moe" (Catherine) Dolphin, both of Dubuque.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Christopher John Dolphin; a brother, Darl Dolphin; a stepdaughter-in-law, Karen Link; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Kramer.

A Dallas G. Dolphin Memorial Fund has been established.
