PETERSBURG, Iowa - Leona M. Willenbring, 91, of Petersburg, Iowa, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg, with the Rev. John O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a rosary accorded by Ss. Peter & Paul Rosary Society at 4 p.m. and a parish scripture service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1915, in Petersburg, daughter of Louis and Anna (Meyer) Willenbring.

She was educated at Ss. Peter & Paul School, receiving an eighth-grade diploma after attending only 7 years.

She was a housekeeper for the Petersburg Feed Mill and also helped clean the Rectory and Church in Petersburg.

She was a lifelong member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish and a member of the church choir.

She loved flowers and gardening. Leona will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are her sister, Adella (Clarence) Lahr, of Petersburg; two brothers, Albert Willenbring, of the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, and Lawrence Willenbring, of Dyersville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Hilda; three sisters, Rose (Tony) Mormann, Irene (Frank) Sassen and Mathilda (Lawrence) Rolfes; and two sisters-in-law, Verna Willenbring and Stacia Willenbring.
