DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Services for Lucille Ahlers, 89, of Dyersville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a Farley Prayer Group rosary at 2:15 p.m., a Catholic Daughters of the America rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish scripture service at 4:45 p.m.

Lucille was born on Aug. 2, 1906, in Worthington, daughter of Peter and Emma (White) Ludwig. She died after a long illness Thursday, Jan. 25, 1996, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, Des Moines. She married Eugene Ahlers in Farley in 1934. Together they owned and operated the Ahlers Cafe in Dyersville from 1945 until retiring in 1975.

Surviving are one daughter, Marilyn (Mrs. Richard) Barnes, of Humbolt; one son, Loras (Charlene) Ahlers, of Urbandale; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Margaret Funke, of Ryan, Ann Stansbary and Viola Hackbarth, both of Cedar Rapids, Loretta Krapfl, of Elgin, Ill., and Germaine Streng, of Cascade; and one brother, Eddie Ludwig, of Farley.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 12, 1977; and four sisters and three brothers.
