WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Mrs. Irene F. Hostert, 87, of Worthington, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with burial in St. Paul's Cem-etery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thurs-day at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be an Altar and Rosary Society rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish scripture service at 5 p.m.

She was born on Jan. 1, 1918, in Dubuque, daughter of Theodore and Sophia (May) Burlage.

She married Andrew Hostert on Aug. 21, 1945, in Dyersville. Together they farmed east of Worthington.

Irene was a charter member of the Dubuque County Cattlewomen's Association and a member of the St. Paul Altar and Rosary Society.

She enjoyed playing cards and was known for her good sense of humor.

Surviving are her husband, Andrew, of Shady Rest Care Center; two daughters, Judy (Dan) Dolan, of Waterloo, and Mary Jo (Joe) Zaksas, of Sarasota, Fla.; a son, Dave Hostert, of Worthington; four grandchildren, Lora (Shane) Sonberg, Steve Dolan, Kristy Dolan and Joe Dolan; a great-granddaughter, Sierra Sonberg; a brother, Don (Mickey) Burlage, of Worthington; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Burlage, of Dyersville.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Lester and Lawrence (Frances) Bur-lage; four sisters, Ida (Laverne) Engler, Lucille (Emil) White and Florence and Mildred Burlage; and a sister-in-law, Victoria Hostert.

Memorials are preferred to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Hospice of Dubuque.
