WORTHINGTON, Iowa -- Charles E. "Chuck" Engler, 82, of Worthington, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at his residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 137. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m. and an American Legion Service at 7 p.m.

Surviving are nine children, Connie (Terry) Bethel, of Breese, Ill., Tom (Mavis) Engler and Lynne Engler, both of Worthington, Bill (Judy) Engler, of Dyersville, Mary (Chuck) Freese, of Marion, Julie (Marc) Kuker, of Readlyn, Sue (Mike) Dreismeier, Ann Engler and Steve (Sarah) Engler, all of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren; a great-grandson; four sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ione; a brother, James Engler; two sisters-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
