Mason Allen Deutmeyer

WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Mason Allen Deutmeyer, 2½ month old infant son of Brian and Dawn Deutmeyer, of Worthington, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 17, 2014.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW in Dyersville. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Worthington, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.

Mason was born April 26, 2014, in Dubuque, son of Brian and Dawn (Taft) Deutmeyer. Baby Mason loved the attention of others and liked being held. Mason brought much joy to his parents during his short time on earth. He was deeply loved by his big sister, Mackenzie, who was always by her brother's side. His contagious smile could light up a room. Mason left a lasting impression on family and friends despite the length of his stay.

Survivors include his parents, Brian and Dawn Deutmeyer; a sister, Mackenzie; his maternal grandparents, Marilyn and John Taft, of Epworth; paternal grandparents, Paul and Jean Deutmeyer, of Worthington; paternal great-grandmother, Germaine Deutmeyer, of Dyersville; aunts and uncles, Jennifer (Steve) Driscoll, of Epworth, Conor (Amber) Taft, of Cascade, Amy (Brian) Brunsman, of Dubuque, Casey (Tony) Reinert, of Dyersville, and Niki (Adam) Lahr, of Worthington; 11 cousins and many great aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Donald and Margaret Koopmann and Calvin and Irene Taft; and paternal great-grandparents, Donald and Marjorie Cooksley and Roger Deutmeyer.
