WORTHINGTON, Iowa -- Jerome E. Besler, 77, of Worthington, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville, after a sudden illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Donald Hertges officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a scripture service at 5 p.m., Knights of Columbus Dubourg Assembly honor guard from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and a rosary at 7 p.m. by Knights of Columbus Council 930.

Surviving are his wife, Monica; a son, Donald, of Hopkinton; two sisters, Lila Mae (Joe) Sperfslage, of Coggon, and Norma Rave, of Manchester; two brothers, Bob (Alice) Besler, of Hopkinton, and Louis (Janice) Besler, of Worthington; a brother-in-law, Vernon (Mary Lee) Demmer, of Dubuque; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald; a brother-in-law, John Rave; and mother- and father-in-law, Al and Margaret Demmer.
