WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Mrs. Lillian B. Sherlock, 95, of Worthington, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at her residence after a brief illness.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where the Altar & Rosary Society rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. and a Scripture service will be held at 8 p.m. Friends may also call from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

She was born Sept. 16, 1906, the daughter of John and Katherine (Mueller) Turnis. She married Joseph R. Sherlock in Monticello.

She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, Senior Citizens Choir and the first president of Worthington Senior Citizens. She also was a lifelong Cubs fan. She was a loving woman and a friend to all. Her kindness and gentleness touched everyone. She took great joy in helping others, and will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (Bev) Sherlock, of Des Moines, and Don (Therese) Sherlock, of Cicero, Ill.; three daughters, Maureen (George) Recker, of Epworth, Sr. Therese and Karen (Rolf) Middleton, of St. Paul, Minn.; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, on July 14, 1978; a son, Dave Sherlock on Aug. 3, 1969; two grandchildren, Donna and Ken Recker; three brothers and four sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross and Hospice of Dubuque.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Mary O'Connell and the nurses of Hospice of Dubuque for their kindness. And especially bless Beth for all her loving care.
