Deloras Sabers, 78, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, in the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial: St. Paul Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a rosary at 4 and Scripture service at 7 p.m.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Ann Jurgens of Worthington, Lila (Steve) Geers of Manchester and Virginia (Joe) Fleming of Marion; four sons, Loras (Jo) Sabers of Peosta, Dave Sabers of Jesup, Joe (Mary Ellen) Sabers of Ames and Dan (Debbie) Sabers of Iowa City; 27 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers, LeVern (Irene) Funke of Farley, Eldon (Kaye) Funke of Monticello and Marvin (Rose Lee) Funke of Dyersville; four sisters, Irma Hess of Worthington, Lucille (Joe) Kelchen of Farley and Grace Link and Norma (Lawrence) Link, both of Dyersville; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Funke of Worthington.

Deloras was born Sept. 1, 1919, in Worthington, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Emma Krogman Funke, and married Clarence Sabers there on Sept. 16, 1941. He died March 17, 1955. Deloras also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gilbert and Donald Funke.

Mrs. Sabers was a farmer and homemaker. She loved gardening, quilting and being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her faith meant a lot to her and requested that a memorial fund to St. Paul Catholic Church be established instead of flowers.
