Janet Ann White Melchert,41, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, in Manor Healthcare, Waterloo, after a lengthy illness. Services: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, by the Rev. Frederick Fangmann. Burial: St. Paul Catholic Church Cemetery, Worthington. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at Hintz-Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Survivors include her husband, David; a son, Jay; two daughters, Cristy and Jodi, all at home; a sister, Verna Vaske of Plano, Texas; six brothers, Allan White of Cascade, Ernie White of Seneca, Wis., Duane, Gene and Paul White, all of Worthington, and Marvin White of Earlville; and her father, Celester White of Worthington.
