WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Mrs. Magdalen A. Jesenovec, 92, of Worthington, died Friday afternoon, March 24, 2006, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a Rosary Society rosary at 4 p.m. and a Parish scripture service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on July 29, 1913, in Hopkinton, daughter of Conrad and Barbara (Ludwig) Bonert. She attended St. Paul School, Worthington.

She married Edmund Jesenovec on Feb. 17, 1941, in Worthington. Together they farmed near Worthington.

She was a member of St. Paul's Parish and its Altar & Rosary Society.

Magdalen loved her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers.

Surviving are her husband, Edmund; four sons, Gerald (Jane), of Farley, Robert, of Worthington, and Ernest (Wilma) and David (Jane), both of Hopkinton; a son-in-law, Edwin Althoff, of Anamosa; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cecelia Wulfekuhle, of Dyersville, and Leona Freiburger, of Delhi; and a sister-in-law, Rita Bonert, of Hopkinton.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Althoff; seven sisters, Frances Johannes-Weyer, Margaret Quint, Martha Connolly, Malvina Offermann, Florence Summers, Kathryn Nefzger, and Magdalen Bonert, in infancy; and four brothers, Anton, Lawrence, John and Leo Bonert.
