Irene M. Hillebrand, 70, 976 Oak St., died at 6:35 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Hillebrand worked at the Adams Co. for 10 years and later at Bethany Home.

She was born on Aug. 18, 1928, in Dubuque, daughter of Elmer and Laura (Bradley) Orr. She married Arnold C. Hillebrand on Feb. 10, 1947, in Epworth, Iowa; he died in February 1984.

She was a member of St. Columbkille's Parish. She will be remembered for the good and loving care she gave to her family and for her diligent work, especially with puzzles.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandy (Gary) Schoenfeld, of Hanover, Ill., and Debra (Robert) Diers, of Colesburg, Iowa; three sons, James (Gladys) Hillebrand, of Mesa, Ariz., and Tom (Linda) Hillebrand and Richard (Mary Jane) Hillebrand, both of Dubuque, whom she lived with for many years; six grandchildren, Tom, Jim, Jodi, Heidi, Amanda and Rich; and two great-grandchildren, Micayla and Brandon.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Dale, in 1983; two sisters; and three brothers.

An Irene M. Hillebrand Memorial Fund has been established.
