Richard L. Ries
Services for Richard L. "Rich" Ries, 47, of 2510 Windsor Ave. will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. (omitted sentence)
Mr. Ries died at 8:30 p.m. Monday at home. He was born in Bellevue, Iowa, and worked at the Dubuque Packing Co. for 26 years and later at FDL Foods. He was a member of United Food & Commercial Workers Local 150A, member of Sacred Heart Holy Name Society, Sacred Heart Boosters Club, and was active in Boy Scouting.
Surviving are his wife, the former Jean Ann Oswald-Zillig, two daughters, Jennifer Marie Ries and Jodie Marie Zillig, both at home; two sons, Thomas C. Zillig of Rockford, Ill., and Tim J. Zillig of East Dubuque; three sisters, Mrs. Sylvester (Wilma) Ploessl of LaMotte, Iowa, Mrs. William (Mary Ann) Knudson of Dubuque, and Mrs. Travis (Martha) Holden of Iowa City, Iowa, and two brothers, Paul J. of Concord Calif.,and Milo L. of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by a son, Francis P. on Aug. 30, 1972.
Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Church.
