Parents of Victor were Frank C. Palen & Florence Nicks Palen.

Married Elsie Mae Wisland on 25 Nov. 1943, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Caledonia, Houston County, Minnesota. Member of St. Mary's Parish Choir for years.

Graduated from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Minnesota.

Served in the 6th. Photo Squadron of the U.S.Army Air Corps during World War II in Europe.

In 1945, joined the family photography studio, Palen Studios, in Caledonia, Minnesota. He retired in 1995 at the age of 93.

Victor & Florence had six children: Kristin, John, Victoria, Geraldine, David, and Frances Palen.

Died after a fall on Thursday, February 13, 2003, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Mass was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Caledonia, Minnesota. Father Donald J. Schmitz officiated burial with military rites at the Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia, Houston County, Minnesota.
