Ernest G. Stauss was born in Galena, Illinois on September 2, 1915. He married Margaret Louise Triller on August 5, 1944 in Dubuque, Iowa. Marty died at Memorial Hospital in Easton, Maryland in 1993.

He is Survived by his companion of 17 years, Alice Wade of Cordova; four sons, Benjamin G. Stauss of Silver Spring, John R. Stauss of Strongsville, Ohio, Thomas W. Stauss of Ocean Pines, and Richard F. Stauss of Chesapeake, Va.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
