Michael G. "Mike" Tigges, age 58, of Dubuque, IA, passed away suddenly at 2:03 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., with Deacon Jim Thill officiating. To celebrate Michael's life, friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Behr Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mike was born on May 10, 1956, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Gerald and Stella (Friederick) Tigges.

Mike married Gail Kobs Unsen on April 19, 2014, in Dubuque.

He was employed for several years at Garda and was also a group leader at Thermolyne for 23 years until his retirement in 2010. Mike played softball for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, watching the Cubs, Hawkeyes and Bears and going to flea markets and garage sales with "his 3 wives", Gail, Chris G. and Sheila J. Mike liked traveling and trying his luck at the local casinos and in Las Vegas. Family was very important to Mike, he was the Patriarch that held everyone together and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Angie (Mike) Welbes, Stacey Medley, Craig (Amy) McGovern, Todd McGovern, Shane (Molly) McGovern, Luke (Brook) Tigges, Adam Tigges, Sara (Estevan) Rojas and Jessica (Vaughn) Wassmer.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers a Michael G. Tigges memorial fund has been established.
