Services for John Maurice Schwendinger, 55, of 2563 Washington St., will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by Dubuque Post No. 6 American Legion. Friends may call at the Didesch Funeral home, where the Scripture Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Schwendinger died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Rickardsville, Ia., and was a World War II army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, the former Louise Noesen; five daughters, Mrs. Fred (Mary Louise) Patrum, Mrs. Ronald (Margaret) Wheeler, Mrs. Tom (Theresa) Saunders, Mrs. Everett (Rita) Thormann, and Mrs. David (Susan) Bender, and a son, Maurice, all of Dubuque; 10 grandchildren, his father, Joseph Schwendinger of Dubuque; three brothers, Leo and Paul of Dubuque, and George of Chicago, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Bahl of Lancaster, Wis., and Mrs. Lester (Lucille) Bahl of Asbury, Ia.
