Charles A. Hogan
Charles A. Hogan, age 73, of Dyersville died at 11:15 p.m. September 1 (1975) at Mercy Medical Center. Friends called after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kramer Funeral Home. The Scripture Wake Service was held at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Basilica with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Mr. Hogan was born at Farley, Ia., on July 17, 1902, son of John M. and Catherine (McCahn) Hogan. He married LaVern Kramer on December 31, 1942, at Worthington. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also had owned and operated Hogan Motor Co. in Dyersville for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, LaVern; one daughter, Mrs. Lee (Charlotte) Mahr of St. Louis Park, Minn., four grandchildren and two bothers, Vincent of Dubuque and William of Philadelphia, Pa. Memorials may be given to St. Francis Xavier Basilica.

Not listed in last week's obituary for Charles Hogan were the pallbearers. They were Dave Tauke, Bud Rooney, Ed Mescher, Roger Mescher, Lefty Meyer and Clanrence Steffen. Honorary K of C pallbearers were Mel Langel, Tony Pins, Bill Votsmeier, Everett Klostermann, Jerry Hermsen and Alvin Hermsen. Father Wheeler officiated at the funeral Mass.
