Former Bellevue Man Killed in California by Hit-and-Run Driver

A. W. Kegler, a former Bellevue resident, was killed instantly by a hit and run driver at Beverly Hills, California, Thursday morning, Oct. 10th.
Antone William Kegler was born in this city Feb. 9, 1874, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kegler. He grew to manhood in Bellevue and was married to Miss Irma Lewis in 1899. They lived in Bellevue until about 25 years ago. He served as mayor of Bellevue in 1908 and was associated with A. E. Ferguson in the Ferguson Manufacturing Company for a number of years, moving to Dubuque when the company moved there, later moving to Minneapolis and a few years ago to Los Angeles, California.
Funeral services were held in California October 14 with burial in Forest Lawn, Cemetery. Surviving beside the widow are one son, Verne of Kentucky and one daughter, Maurine, of Minneapolis, Minn. and one sister, Mrs. Albert Kucheman of Moline, Illinois.
