Wilmer P. Maiers
Holy Cross, Iowa

Wilmer P. "Wimp" Maiers, 57, of Holy Cross died Saturday, Feb. 25, 1989, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Iowa City.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial in the church Cemetery. (rest of paragraph omitted)

Mr. Maiers was a lifetime resident and farmed in the Holy Cross area.

He was born June 29, 1931, in Holy Cross, son of Gilbert and Henrietta (Lake) Maiers. He married Norma Nefzger April 29, 1961, at New Vienna; she survives.

He was a member of the New Vienna VFW, Post 7736, and the Guttenberg Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dean (Marcia) Rogers of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Tom (Vivian) Clemen of New Vienna; a son, Paul of Holy Cross; four brothers, Leon of Holy Cross, Eddie of New Vienna, and Clete and Al "Butch", both of Dubuque; and a sister, Mrs. Jerry (Eileen) Kluesner of Farley.
