Sylveria M. Kramer
1918-2012

Sylveria M. "Sis" Kramer, 94, of Dyersville died Friday, June 29, 2012, at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville.

Friends may call from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish vigil will be held at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will preside.

Sis was born January 15, 1918, in Dyersville, Iowa the daughter of Anton and Anna (Kramer) Osterhaus. She married Elmer Kramer on Nov. 30, 1939, in Dyersville, Iowa. Together they farmed near Dyersville.

She genuinely had a good heart, always putting her family and everyone else first. Sis's interests were typical of her generation: quilting, sewing, gardening, playing cards and visiting with relatives, neighbors and friends.

Surviving are 8 children: Ann Pfab of Peosta, Jean (Charles) Schneider and Ed (Sue) Kramer, both of Dyersville, John (Bev) Kramer of Belleville, WI, Arthur (Nancy) Kramer of University City, MO, Marilyn (John) Goedken of Petersburg, Janice (Ken) Willenborg of Dyersville and Merle Kramer of Ann Arbor, MI; 31 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband in 1985, 3 grandchildren, Michael and Karla Schneider, and Christopher Goedken; 2 great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Melissa Goedken; a son-in-law, Ernie Pfab; 9 siblings and their spouses: Elizabeth "Betty" (Greg) Tauke, Julius (Leona) Osterhaus, Irwin (Germaine) Osterhaus, Alvina (Hugo) Krapfl, Viola (Tony) Quint, Clarence "Clay" (Irene) Osterhaus, Arthur Osterhaus, Isabel (Ambrose) Westhoff and Anna Jane (Edwin) Mescher.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of the Ellen Kennedy Living Center, Oak Crest Manor and Hospice of Dubuque for their years of support and care given to our mother.
