Ludwina Flick

Services for Mrs. Ludwina "Lavene" Flick, 87, of Dubuque Health Care Center, formerly of 980 N. Booth St., will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nativity Catholic Church.

Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Flick was born on Dec. 22, 1905, in St. Donatus, Iowa, daughter of Matthew and Margaret (Tritz) Manders. She died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 1993 at the care center.

She married Ellwood "Woody" Flick on Nov. 29, 1925, at St. Donatus; he died on Aug 23, 1986.

She was a longtime member of Nativity Catholic Church and its rosary society, a charter member of the Dubuque Fire Fighters Auxiliary and a member of the Fire Fighters Retirees. She was an avid gardener and crocheter for many years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Waddick, and a son, Robert (and Joan) Flick, both of Dubuque; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joan Flick, in 1929.

A Mrs. Ludwina "Lavene" Flick Memorial Fund has been established.
