Anton (Tony) Frick, veteran Dubuque sign writer whose signature, "Frick Again" has been known to thousands of Dubuquers for nearly a half a century, died suddenly Tuesday evening at 6:15 o'clock at his home, 1571 Washington Street.

The body is at the Strueber Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held Friday morning to St. Patrick's Church where a mass of requiem will be offered at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Frick was engaged in the sign writing, church decorating and pictorial painting fields in Dubuque for more than 40 years. For many years he made most of the display signs used by Dubuque retail firms and every sign he painted carried the widely-known signature, "Frick Again". Mr. Frick had his workshop just east of Main Street on West Thirteenth Street for many years.

He was born in Austria and came to this country with his parents, the late Frank J. and Helen Frick. They settled in Dubuque in 1893. Mr. Frick was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic parish and of the Holy Name Society of that parish.

Surviving are his son, Edwin A. Frick, Dubuque; his brothers, Joseph and Herman Frick, Dubuque; and his grandsons, Edwin Frick, Jr. and Duane Frick, also of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances Kettler Frick, who died in 1931, and two sisters.
