Victoria M. Hostert, 83, of 3460 Starlite Drive, Dubuque, formerly of Worthington, Iowa, died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Douglas J. Loecke officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Worthington. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, Iowa, where there will be a wake service at 5 p.m., and the St. Paul's Parish rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m.

She worked as a bookkeeper at Herb Green Ford in Cascade and later at Anderson Weber in Dubuque.

She was born on May 12, 1920, in Worthington, daughter of Felix L. and Josephine (Schemmel) Hostert.

She was a graduate of the former St. Paul's High School in Worthington. She also attended the former Bayless Business College in Dubuque.

She was a member of St. Paul's Parish in Worthington, its Altar and Rosary Society and the Power of Prayer group. She also was a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Surviving are a brother, Andrew (Irene) Hostert, of Worthington; a nephew, David Hostert, of Worthington; and two nieces, Mary Jo (Joe) Zaksas, of Barrington, Ill., and Judy (Dan) Dolan, of Waterloo, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
